Oxford - On Friday 5th March the Devon & Cornwall Police took delivery of a new EC145 helicopter. This most modern machine was customised at Eurocopter UK in Oxford to meet the demanding needs of the modern police service. It is equipped with the latest aids to police reconnaissance and airborne crime fighting. Included is a state-of-the-art Infra Red camera, sophisticated video viewing and recording equipment, and night vision goggles which enable the crew to see at night almost as well as in the day.

Eurocopter enhances Cabin Comfort for a smoother Ride

Houston - Eurocopter’s R&D teams are working on several programs to enhance cabin comfort providing customers with a smoother ride. Five-blade main rotors as on the EC155 and EC225 have led to a significant reduction of vibrations. Advanced rotor systems such as a piezo active rotor, designated Blue Pulse™ and currently under development, are designed to minimize vibrations further. However, advanced anti-vibration systems applicable to present-day helicopters are another, pro-active approach to reducing vibrations. Having all aspects of customer comfort in mind, Eurocopter also develops new air conditioning systems to cope with all aspects of cabin temperature.

Paris - Eurocopter, the world’s leading helicopter manufacturer, met its business and delivery objectives for 2009 and stabilised its turnover at the level of its record year, 2008. The world economic crisis caused a sharp order decline in the civil market for light helicopters. However, governmental orders have over-compensated in value the drop in commercial unit sales, leading to the second-best result of order intakes in Eurocopter’s history. In line with Eurocopter’s roadmap, the Support and Services business was also strengthened with the signature of a number of significant contracts.
