EADS MTA has a family of Surveillance and Homeland Security aircraft in operation around the world. These aircraft range in mission purpose from Exclusive Economic Zone Control to the most demanding National Defence operations.
The Maritime Patrol solutions extend from Maritime Surveillance typically performed by the EADS CASA C-212-400, to the Homeland Security and Coast Guard operations where the CN-235-300 is the market benchmark. The C-295 Persuader is an affordable solution that fulfills the Anti-Surface and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) roles.
Surveillance solutions include the EADS MTA developed Fully Integrated Tactical System (FITS) that acts as an effectiveness multiplier for mission performance. This FITS system is also part of the P-3 modernization package that EADS MTA offers and has been contracted by the Spanish and Brazilian Air Forces.
EADS MTA completes the family with a new mission aircraft based on the Airbus A319 CJ. This derivative of the Airbus Corporate Jet is a long-range anti-submarine warfare aircraft, equipped with an advanced mission system that also includes FITS.
The EADS CASA platforms are perfectly adapted to the maritime patrol missions, with high manoeuvrability at low altitude and outstanding mission performance, as they were designed on the basis of frequent low level flights, for maritime surveillance and tactical operations.
C-212 Patrullero is a light patrol aircraft suited for coastal surveillance
8 hours on surveillance
Tried-and-tested light aircraft for all maritime surveillance missions.
The EADS CASA maritime surveillance aircraft provides the mission crew with the cabin comfort required for long endurance missions: rest area, mission consoles area, observation area with two bubble windows and a rear ramp that can be opened in flight for the delivery of emergency equipment. The aircraft in its maritime patrol configuration also has sufficient space available to transport personnel or cargo.
The C-212 Patrulllero and the CN-235/C-295 Persuader offer an outstanding mullti-mission capability, thanks to the use of the rear ramp. Cabin equipment can be easily unloaded allowing the transport of additional seats, palletised or bulk cargo. If required by customer missions, the aircraft can be equipped with an easy-to-install palletized mission system that allows most of the cargo cabin to be used for transport.
The Military Transport Aircraft maritime surveillance solutions incorporate state-of- the-art mission sensors integrated with the FITS tactical system: surveillance radar with automatic tracking and imaging modes, state-of-the-art IR/EO turret, and specific communications for the exchange of mission data and images. Other integrated sensors, depending on customer's mission requirements, are: AIS, IFF interrogator, Datalink, ESM/ELINT, acoustics, MAD, etc.
The FITS integrates mission sensors, aircraft navigation and communication, and increases mission effectiveness by providing an intuitive human-machine interface that presents tactical/navigation information to the mission operators in real time.
