ATR forecasts an outstanding Paris Air Show

Avions de Transport Régional (ATR) will attend Paris Air Show, 13-19 June 2005. This airshow will confirm the recovery of the turboprop market and the success of ATR as evidenced over the last months.

ATR forecasts a cumulated number of sales not seen in over a decade.ATR Chief Executive Officer Filippo Bagnato will unveil new orders on the occasion of 2 press briefings:

  • On Monday June 13, 2005
    • 11:30 am, in the ATR Chalet, B 149
    • 4:00 pm, in the ATR Chalet, B 149

Other announcements are scheduled during the show.

Furthermore, Filippo Bagnato will hold a press breakfast on Wednesday June 15, at 9:30 am in the ATR chalet.

One of the two firsts 72-seat ATR 72-500 to be delivered to the Indian low-cost airline Air Deccan in June 2005 will be displayed on the static. A delivery ceremony is scheduled on Wednesday June 15, at 10:30am on the static with Air Deccan’s Managing director Capt Gopinath.Equipped with a totally renewed commercial furnishing, the aircraft will display the newest technological innovations available as an option to satisfy the most demanding airline and passenger expectation.

  • The “Futura” type seats for enhanced comfort, space and elegance
  • New cabin lighting (Light Emitting Diode) for enhanced low-maintenance equipment
  • LCD screens for an improved on-board service.

The ATR 72-500 has the lowest seat mile costs, recognised as a benchmark for the regional market. The increased power and aerodynamic refinements provide excellent take-off and landing performance. The cruise speed of the ATR 72-500 is 280 kts.
The maximum take-off weight (MTOW) was increased by 300 kg, from 22,500 kg to 22,800 kg, end of 2004.

Since the beginning of the programme, ATR has sold 719 aircraft (381 ATR 42s and 338 ATR 72s) and 31 from 1st January onwards.

ATR will be present with its own chalet, B149 and on the Exhibit stands of its two partners, EADS and Finmeccanica.

  • EADS stand: Hall 2A/A18 with an ATR 42-500 aircraft scale model, 1/20th
  • Finmeccanica stand: Hall 2D19 with an ATR 72-500 aircraft scale model, 1/10th
