Evert Dudok in charge of Astrium's Earth Observation & Science activities

Friedrichshafen, 25 March 2002

Evert Dudok has been appointed Head of Earth Observation & Science division. This appointment takes place in the frame of the current Astrium's organisation and follows the resignation of Dr. Klaus Ensslin.

"After the fantastic success of the launch of Envisat which has mobilised Astrium's teams, we will have to face new challenges in Earth Observation activities. That's why it was important to have a new direction put in place as soon as possible to address them. " said Antoine Bouvier CEO of Astrium. "This mission is to be seen in line with the ongoing reorganisation process of the Astrium company. The proposal of the new organisation will be presented to Astrium's shareholders by end of March."

Evert Dudok started his career with Dasa in Ottobrunn back in 1984, where he worked many years for "Payload Antennas" activities. Since the beginning of Astrium, he was Head of the Business Unit "Navigation and constellations" in the Business Division "Telecommunication & Navigation".

Dr. Klaus Ensslin spent most of his career in Daimler-Benz AG group. He joined Dornier Systems in 1982 and as Managing Director of this company in 1995 and member of the Board of Astrium since 2000, he contributed greatly to the development of Earth Observation & Science activities.
