EADS Defence & Security selected by Hong Kong Police Force for maintenance service of its TETRA network and terminals

  • Reinforce long term partnership
  • Prove performance and reliability of EADS TETRA solutions

26 May 2008

EADS Defence & Security has been awarded a 5-year maintenance service contract through its integrated activity EADS Secure Networks by the Hong Kong Police Force.

This contract implies a true turnkey maintenance service provided by EADS Secure Networks and covering all of the TETRA system elements i.e. switches, base stations, terminals, etc. and hardware repair and software support.

The TETRA network has been deployed within less than 12 months in 2000 and has proven reliable while providing high performance digital radio communications for the Hong Kong Police.

The new contract for maintenance service epitomizes the good relationship between EADS Secure Networks and the Hong Kong Police and their effective long-term partnership. This partnership now exists for 13 years and is based on a fair, straight cooperation reinforced by a longstanding mutual trust. These are the roots for such a long period contract for the maintenance service.

“We are looking forward to continuing working with a great partner, the Hong Kong Police Force. We very quickly deployed together this first end-to-end encrypted TETRA network in Hong Kong and we are now very excited to deliver our promise of a high quality reliable maintenance service for the next five years” said François Begaud, CEO of EADS Secure Networks Asia Pacific.
