Jussi Itävuori, born on 7 November 1955, is a Member of the EADS Executive Committee and Head of Human Resources for EADS.
Prior to assuming this position, Itävuori worked with the KONE Corporation, the elevator manufacturer, from 1982 to 2001. He developed his expertise in international human resource management first as Personnel Manager at Corporate HQ and then as Personnel Director and a Member of the Executive Committee of KONE Elevators.
By 1995, Itävuori had advanced to become Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Quality for the KONE Corporation, as well as Member and Secretary of the Corporate Management Group and its Working Committee. Two years later, Itävuori was appointed Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Communication.
Before joining KONE, Itävuori worked from 1980 to 1982 as a Personnel Consultant with Kesko, a wholesale company. He was responsible for employee recruitment.
Jussi Itävuori earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Vaasa School of Economics in 1980 and 1982 respectively. During his studies he served as General Secretary of the Student Union and participated in local and national political activities. He served as a pilot in the Finnish Air Force from 1974 to 1975 before beginning his studies.
