What can I expect as a participant in PROGRESS?

Is PROGRESS a part-time or a full-time programme?

PROGRESS is a full-time job for all participants. After successful completion of the recruitment process, you will be employed by EADS with a permanent contract.

Where and when can I apply?

You can apply online via our e-recruiting tool which will be activated as of December 1, 2008.

Who can apply?

PROGRESS is designed for graduates and professionals with a maximum of a 3-year professional experience (including internships) and a minimum of a 6-month experience abroad.

In addition, you should fulfil the following requirements:
• English language fluency (additional language(s) is (are) a plus),
• Excellent academic background in business or engineering
• Very good communication skills and strong team player
• Creative and innovative
• Desire for world-wide mobility
• Passion for engineering and technology

Can I choose the Business Unit where I want to work?

We will do our best to align your personal preferences and interests regarding the function, the business unit and the location with the internal staffing needs. However, there is no guarantee that you will be offered a position at your preferred location or in your preferred function/business unit.

How will I be assessed in the recruitment process?

As all applicants for PROGRESS, you will go through the following selection process:

Pre-screening of application documents
Interviews
Selection event with internal decision makers

How will I be evaluated during the programme?

There will be regular reviews with the direct supervisor, the local HR Responsible as well as with the PROGRESS Programme Manager. Furthermore, development talks are foreseen to discuss the individual future career development with the mentors.

Can I do a cross-functional, cross-business or cross-country rotation?

If you work in the first stream (Engineering/Manufacturing/Programmes), your placement will last for the 24 months within a Business Unit at a given location. A temporary placement in another Business Unit is at the manager’s discretion (max. 2 months of duration).
If your PROGRESS position is within one of the support functions, you will rotate after one year to complete two different project assignments across functions, Business Units and countries.

What type of career path can I expect after completing PROGRESS?

The PROGRESS Programme prepares you as graduates and young professionals to take over positions with a significant level of responsibility in the future. Some alumni will move into managerial positions, others will concentrate on specialisations. Your individual career path within the EADS Group is mainly based on your performance in the programme and our actual business needs.
