Through the Service Instructor Pilot Training (SIPT), the first Bundeswehr flight instructors received their conversion training for Eurofighter. In three courses, a total of ten pilots were trained by EADS engineers and pilots. The last course ended in April 2004.

Compared to the aircraft types flown up to now, the modern airborne weapon system Eurofighter places expanded requirements on the pilots. This is reflected in the focal points of the training. The SIPT course therefore included specific theoretical instruction also using functional models, training sessions in the various simulators and active flight hours on the Eurofighter aircraft.
