ETAP (European Technology Acquisition Programme)ETAP is the European Technology Acquisition Programme, which was launched in 2001. Six nations – France, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Germany – are participating in a joint study on the technologies required for future manned and unmanned weapon systems, e.g. Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAVs). EADS Military Air Systems holds a share in ETAP. Within the scope of a joint study, initial statements are to be made on the capabilities of future aerial combat systems that are demanded for the year 2020. The study is also to give an indication of technologies which are to be developed and demonstrated jointly in order to optimize the efforts that are being undertaken across Europe in the area of Research and Technology (R&T). |
