ASRO-X – Airborne Ground Surveillance and Data Fusion Demonstrator

EADS is responsible for the French demonstrator programme of a complete surveillance chain (IMINT) named ASRO-X. Its function is to demonstrate the information chain of the airborne ground surveillance operation & control with the task of production, exploitation and utilisation of IMINT information.

Main objectives are:

  • To develop a complete surveillance system, from sensor to data diffusion
  • To contribute to the objectives of the digital battle space, in the field of ground surveillance
  • To validate the use of an enduring observation system, with several sensors.

3 types of experimentation are planned (2003):

  • Type 1: X-System + ASRO-X Ground Segment
  • Type 2: X-System + HORIZON System + ASRO-X Ground Segment
  • Type 3: Armed Forces Exercise.
