On 5 January 2009 in Paris, Louis GALLOIS CEO of EADS and Christian CORNILLE CEO of AEROLIA signed the founding acts of the French Aerostructures leader and world No. 2 for nose fuselage subassemblies.
"The creation of AEROLIA in France and Premium AEROTEC in Germany results from the decision of Airbus and EADS to focus on their core business" specified Louis Gallois, CEO of EADS; "these companies, 100% subsidiaries of EADS, benefit from a large-scale activity concerning all the Airbus series and development products, plus the capacity to work with new customers from all over the world".
For Tom Enders, Airbus CEO, "Aerolia is equipped to be both a long-term Airbus partner and a major player in the worldwide aerostructures market. The company's significant involvement in all the Airbus programmes and its important contribution to the A350 XWB are the basis for excellent perspectives for Aerolia".
In fact, this legal milestone marks AEROLIA's operational maturity at the end of three months dedicated to the verification of all the operational processes, from design to manufacture and delivery to the customers, of the aerostructures and the nose fuselage subassemblies.
"From design to production and support, AEROLIA, global reference for Aerostructures and Nose Fuselage is committed to its Customers and accompanies them along their development process. This creation, which is on-schedule, is thanks to the extremely efficient work by the teams, who I would like to thank for their efforts, remarked Christian Cornille, CEO of AEROLIA. Over 800 domains have been studied in the greatest detail to give our suppliers and customers the most transparent and secure transition possible".
AEROLIA is 2,200 employees, working every year on the design and manufacture of 4 million detail parts and 500 work packages of the Airbus nose fuselage.
Four operational directorates ( Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Programs & commercial ) and four support directorates ( Quality, Finances, Human Resources, Strategy & Communications ), privileging proximity with its customers and in-house teams, are located on the Company's three sites.
The Design Office, based in Toulouse, will assemble the competencies of 260 engineers and collaborators, coming for the most part from the Airbus design offices.
At Saint-Nazaire, 500 persons work on the production of more than 3 million detail parts and panels, delivered 24/7 to the Customers. This site also has a world technological first in the 3D mechanical machining of fuselage panels.
At Méaulte, 1,300 employees produce the nose fuselages on this site where technologies are developed to meet the requirements relating to the aerodynamic profile of the nose fuselage. A new production unit will shortly complete the metallic know-how of this plant with the production launch of the Airbus A350.
And finally, AEROLIA has in project the creation of an Aeronautical Park in Tunisia which will contribute to the competitiveness of the whole of the company. This park will be composed of a subsidiary company Aerolia, in charge of the production of under - structural units, in contact with a network of industrial partners installed near the company.
The activities integrated in AEROLIA will maintain and develop commercial and industrial relations with the aeronautics majors such as Airbus, Bombardier, ATR, Latécoère, Sonaca, Sogerma, Stork Fokker, Piaggio, SAAB, SABCA…
At its creation, AEROLIA certified EN 9100 et ISO 14 001, displays its determination to conquer sales markets throughout the world and with all manufacturers.
As either production partner or provider of global solutions, from design to industrialisation and delivery for AOG requirements, AEROLIA is committed to its customers accompanying them along their development process.
